The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) is positioned as a center for cutting edge research in hospitality. The quality of research output is comparable to the prevailing business school standard. The research findings will be relevant to the hospitality industries, including tourism destination, airline, hotel, restaurant, theme park, cruise line, and convention center. As of now, among different hotel schools in the world, only the School of Hotel Administration at the Cornell University is sharing and practicing this same vision. The School of Hotel and Tourism Management is committed to producing cutting-edge research that shapes the hospitality and tourism industries. The research interests of the faculty members concentrate on the following four areas:
Research of the School is mainly consolidated through the Center for Hospitality and Real Estate Research (CHRER), which serves as a base for generating cutting edge research to shape the hospitality field, and to conduct locally relevant applied research projects that directly benefit the hospitality industries in Hong Kong. Highlights of the research findings are also shared with academia and the industry through the School’s Newsletter. |
