Four Global Business Studies (GBS) Year 1 students championed at the Hong Kong regional final of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Global Business Challenge 2009 in June. The team then represented Hong Kong in the Global Final held in Singapore in the end of August and accomplished victory in the international division.
The GBS team, ANOVA, comprising Steven Chan, Janie Fung, Thomas Lai and Katie Sham, achieved a remarkable performance in regional final and won all the regional awards in the competition including the Hong Kong regional champion, Best Business Report and Best Executive Summary. Steven Chan also won the Best Speaker Award. In the global contest, the team proposed a comprehensive and feasible plan for a hotel in Mediterranean to help restructure the company¡¦s portfolio and raise its competitiveness. The team finally defeated all other worldwide competitors and won the championship.
