The Faculty has long been at the forefront of top-notch business research. Our research efforts own much international recognition, with the University of Texas-Dallas ranking us No. 1 worldwide in international business research (based on publication counts in the Journal of International Business Studies) during the period of 1995-2008.
In addition to individual research collaboration, our faculty members also take lead of two university level research institutes - the Li & Fung Institute of Supply Chain Management & Logistics and the Institute of Economics and Finance; as well as eight faculty-level research centers. Research interests of these research centers are diverse, ranging from corporate governance, international business, entrepreneurship to aviation policy, marketing and hospitality.
In order to achieve synergy on shared expertise, the Faculty has actively invited fellow scholars from other disciplines to join the research centers as associate directors or advisors. One example is the partnership with engineering scholars to nurture viable entrepreneurial projects based on innovative technologies. Others include collaboration with economics professors in research on Chinese economy and corporate finance in Asia, etc.
