The Li & Fung Institute of Supply Chain Management & Logistics was established with a substantial donation from the Li & Fung Group in 2006. Both existing and newly established research centers related to supply chain management and logistics studies across the business and engineering faculties of the University were strategically coordinated under the Institute. These include the Center for Supply Chain Management & Logistics, the Center for Logistics Technologies & Supply Chain Optimization and the Research & Development Center for Supply Chain & Logistics Management. The following diagram shows the current organization structure of the Institute and the Centers.
Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics
The Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics is established under the Faculty of Business Administration. It consists of two research centers, a knowledge transfer office and special project units. Research projects are hosted and conducted in the Cyber Logistics Research Center (CLRC) and the Supply Chain Management Research Center (SCMRC). The CLRC focuses on logistics and related technologies while the SCMRC emphasizes the theory and practices of supply chain management. The Knowledge Transfer Office promotes exchanges between the research centers and practitioners and disseminates knowledge to practitioners through open forums, education and training programs, as well as consultation services.
