Family and closely-held businesses constitute the majority of companies in Hong Kong and the PRD. As most first generation of entrepreneurs approach retirement age, there is a growing need to sustain the spirit of these entrepreneurial families and partnership group. Relevant issues include trans-generational entrepreneurship; family relationships; traditions and values; power, control and compensation; outsidersˇ¦ roles and responsibilities; and legal, financial and other planning issues around leadership succession and ownership transfer. Active discussion and sharing of these issues will certainly beneficial to the family and closely-held business runners. Therefore, the CUHK Center for Entrepreneurship sees the needs of having a platform to facilitate the organization of activities to serve the needs of various stakeholders. |
