Global Entrepreneurship Monitor

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) http://www.gemconsortium.org/ is an international research consortium that investigates early stage entrepreneurship activity. Since 2002, when The Chinese University of Hong Kong joined the GEM Consortium, we have held forums and published reports describing Hong Kong's entrepreneurship and the conditions that affect entrepreneurial activity. In 2003, the Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences Members joined our research team.

The 2004 GEM study has been completed on Hong Kong & Shenzhen. A press conference and a forum was be held to report on the findings to the public. A comparison of the two cities is likely to bring us new insight on entrepreneurship. The 2004 GEM study will also investigate the corporate entrepreneurship of established firms in Hong Kong.
