Program of Study
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programs aim to admit students who have demonstrated outstanding research potentials at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These programs of advanced studies prepare students for careers in teaching and research in higher education and research institutions, and employment in specialist positions in the private and public sectors that require advanced research capabilities.

If the student failed to pass the candidacy examination within 24 months, the student will be required to discontinue studies.

The postgraduate studentship will stop at the 25th month if the student cannot pass the candidacy requirement within 24 month, but will resume upon passing the candidacy requirement, provided that the division has notified the Graduate School. The end date of PGS award will remain as the normative study end date. If the student failed to pass the candidacy examination within 36 months, the student will be required to discontinue studies.
