Method of Instruction
The OneMBA Global Program place primary responsibility upon each individual faculty member to decide on the course materials and the method of teaching that will prove the most effective in realising the objectives of the course and be most suitable to the subject matter.
Instructional methods include case analyses, discussions, seminars, gaming models, lectures and directed research. In addition, company visits, surveys and fieldwork are conducted by participants, and local executives are invited to give guest lectures or lead class discussions.
The case analyses method is used extensively where it is appropriate. This method provides realistic business situations for students to analyse, evaluate, and formulate decisions on the basis of the knowledge that they have acquired or are in the process of acquiring. Usually, students are required to make oral presentations of the case and/or prepare written analyses, and case materials are often used as the basis of course examinations. Regardless of which course materials or delivery methods are adopted, they must pertain to achieving a balance between theory and practice, with a clear emphasis on relevance. |
