Introduction
 
The mission of the Faculty of Business Administration at CUHK is to pursue excellence in the creation and dissemination of business knowledge. To complement this faculty-wide mission, the Department of Marketing has always strived to foster a working environment conducive for faculty members to engage in research endeavors that contribute to the advancement of the knowledge base of their chosen fields. While the research projects undertaken have been diversified, topics related to China marketing, service marketing, risk-taking behavior and social marketing have featured particularly prominently on the research agendas of the faculty members.
 
On the teaching side, the Department offers both graduate and undergraduate courses that emphasize relevance and quality. At present, the Department runs the PhD, MPhil and MSc programmes and offers courses in the faculty-based MBA, EMBA and BBA programmes. In the undergraduate Integrated BBA Programme, marketing has remained one of the most popular concentrations over the years. With a team of dynamic and dedicated colleagues, the curricula are constantly under review and periodically updated to keep abreast of the current state of development in the discipline. Through these efforts, we hope to train our students to become high caliber managers and accomplished scholars.
 
As we continue to face new changes and challenges entering the millennium, the Department will maintain its momentum to strive for leadership in business research and education through the nurturing of scholarship that is competitive by world-class standards, as we have been doing all these past decades.
