Outward Bound Program

First-year students of Full-time MBA Programme and Part-time MBA Programmes are required to attend five-day and three-day adventure courses, respectively, at Outward Bound Hong Kong before starting classes in September. Participation is compulsory. Students are given physical and mental challenges such as rappelling down a steep rock face and overcoming physical obstacles at sea and on land. They quickly learn the importance of acquiring skills in teamwork, leadership, and communication to solve problems. These exercises help students to become aware of their personal strengths and weaknesses. This self-discovery process is the first step in personal development. The course is not only an excellent opportunity for students to get to know each other, but also forms the foundation of the interpersonal group skills that are required throughout their CUMBA experience.
