We are admitting undergraduate students through 4 major channels:

JUPAS:

Joint University Programmes Admission System (JUPAS) admits local students who have sat two open examinations: HKCEE and HKALE following completion of F. 5 and F. 7 respectively.

Non-JUPAS: Admits students who are HK ID card-holders and have completed their secondary school education overseas or local international schools. These students are mainly returnees from UK, Singapore, USA, Canada, and Australia.

EAS: The Early Admission Scheme (EAS) admits F. 6 students with outstanding HKCEE results (between 6-10As). In 2004, the University admitted 3 Sixth formers with 10A grades, with two of them in BA Faculty (one each in IFAA and QFN).

Non-local: Admits students mainly from Mainland China (both fee-paying and scholarship students) and a few from Macao. These students will pay higher tuition fees than local students starting from next year and they bring in extra resources to the Faculty.

Have you noticed that the quality of first year business students has improved significantly over the past two years? The University measures intake quality across the University's 50 programmes using Median Programme WGPA, which is the weighted average of the grades in major subjects in HKCEE and HKALE. The outstanding academic quality of our freshmen is reflected in a University wide ranking. IFAA is No. 1; QFN No. 2; PAC No. 9; HMG No. 10; and IBBA No. 16. The table below shows the top ten programmes at CUHK:
