Some Interesting Statistics on the 2nd Term BA Course Add/Drop

BA Major Students who wanted to add/drop DSE/MGT/MKT/FIN courses and ACY 1111, 1112 and 3050 had to apply on line via the BA add/drop system. Their requests were processed using a computer system developed by the Undergraduate Office. The results were manually transferred to University pre-printed forms for studentsˇ¦ acknowledgement and acceptance. The signed forms were then delivered to R&E for input into the University system. Since the University has refused to handle add/drop for majors, we developed the BA add/drop system to manage the vast amount of data, which had proven in the past to be rather tedious. We would like to share with the Faculty some interesting statistics:

As you can see from above, a cumulative total of 2,479 add/drop requests from 1,772 students were processed. On average, each student submitted 1.4 courses for add/drop. Finance courses led the pack in terms of number of requests, at 25%, followed by DSE courses at 19%. The success rate, as measured by the number of students who were granted at least one request, was 73%. From the perspective of students, this is still disappointing, as 19% of students were not able to successfully add/drop in Phase 3.
