for setting up a cafe at the Pentecostal Mission Hall Complex High
Block in University during the academic term 2004-2005. A briefing

Cheung, the Faculty advisor for this project, explained to the students
the purpose of this competition. "This competition's principle
objective is to provide our business students an opportunity to
gain entrepreneurial experience in the real business world. The
winning team will have an opportunity to execute their business
proposal in real life with the support and guidance of Undergraduate
Office. Students will be involved in the various facets of starting,
operating and managing a business. This experience will expose our
students to the skills and capabilities required to run a real-life
venture where they will apply theories and concepts learned in their

Since
winning the competition and during last August and September, "ToGather"
worked with the Undergraduate Office to see if the proposal can
be put into practice. "ToGather" tasted the entrepreneurial
experience in the business world in the areas of shop design and
renovation, sourcing of products and equipments, menu setting, budget
control, marketing, human resources management¡K... Unfortunately,
due to some University regulations, the proposal cannot be realized.
Nevertheless, "ToGather" expressed that the entire process
has been an invaluable learning experience to them through which
they have learned the skills in business plan writing, cost calculation,
budget planning and monitoring, presentation and negotiation which
are essential skills for their career development after graduation.
