With a sharpened awareness of personal wealth management, financial planning as a profession has gained momentum in both Hong Kong and China.  To strengthen the professional knowledge of the practitioners in the financial industry, in particular the insurance industry, the Professional Certificate/Diploma in Financial Planning and Management (PDFPM) was launched in 2001 to cater for the training needs of the sales executives in this changing business environment.

This program is designed as an in-house executive training program for companies in the insurance and banking industries. The objectives are:

• to give participants a better understanding of the basic concepts of financial planning and budgeting;
• to familiarize the participants with the tools available for tax/financial planning and risk management;
• to introduce modern analytical techniques for making financial decisions; and
• to improve the quality and professionalism of the advice which participants can offer to their clients
