Accounting is the process of identifying, measuring, and communicating economic information to permit informed judgments and decisions by users of the information. Such information is required and used by parties both internal and external to a business, not-for-profit organizations, and other entities. The field of accounting has evolved into a highly respected profession and is based on a substantial and dynamic common body of knowledge. The BBA in Professional Accountancy (PAC) Programme is designed to expose students to this professional knowledge. We aim at producing graduates who will meet the business needs of the 21st century and become global business leaders with visions and creative abilities.
There is also a focus on preparation in leadership, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills in addition to technical business/accounting knowledge, providing students with a foundation for continuing self-education and development. Professionalism, ethics and information technology are integrated throughout the curriculum. Many courses provide good opportunities for teamwork, encourage creativity, and instill a commitment to life-long learning throughout tutorials and small group seminars.
Graduates are eligible to register as students of the Qualification Programme under the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) professional accreditation system or to take the ACCA or AICPA examination.
The international accreditation by AACSB-International in 1999 is another external affirmation of the school's achievement. Besides, the school is also accredited member of the Federation of Schools of Accountancy.
