Our faculty members are not only committed to excellent teaching and research, they are also in demand by many outside bodies for various professional services and advice. Our faculty participate actively in professional organizations and many of them have served as editors and on editorial boards of major journals. Many are members of various committees of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and have made a significant contribution to the development of accounting profession in Hong Kong.
The School has always been regarded as a source for business solutions, as a continuing education arm for executives and managers, and as a consulting resource for business firms and public organizations. It is actively engaged in executive training programmes operated through the Asia-Pacific Institute of Business (APIB) of the University. A summer "professional attachment" scheme is also available for staff to be seconded to major audit firms which further enhances their practical accounting experience.
The School maintains close relationships with employers, local accounting firms and the business community. About fifteen prominent practitioners and executives sit on our Advisory Board on Accounting Studies and constantly give advice and assistance on the School’s development.
